Hawks Place 14th at Northeast-10 Championship
October 25, 2009Colchester, Vt. (October 25) -- On Sunday morning, the Saint Anselm women's cross country team placed 14th out of 16 teams at the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Championship, hosted by Saint Michael's. Stonehill took the women's team title, while Laura Brustolon of Southern Connecticut won the individual crown in a time of 18:03. Four of the top five runners for the Hawks were all battling the flu throughout the week leading up to the race.
The Hawks were led by senior Jessica St. Laurent (Huntington, Miss.), who placed 58th in a time of 20:25. She was followed by classmate Jessica Marzik (Shelton, Conn.) in 92nd and sophomore Bianca Ciuffredo (Worcester, Mass.) in 97th place. Marzik finished in 21:26, while Ciuffredo crossed in 21:35. Senior Kathleen D'Orso (Orange, Conn.) placed 103rd in a time of 21:42, while sophomore Kristen Raymond (Lincoln, R.I.) closed out the scoring in 108th place in a time of 21:57.
