Hawks Finish 42nd on Saturday at Franklin Park
October 10, 2009Boston, Mass. (October 10) -- At the 2009 New England Cross Country Championships on Saturday, the Saint Anselm women's cross country team finished in 42nd place of 49 teams with 1226 points. The Hawks were led by senior Jessica St. Laurent (Huntington, Miss.), who crossed the finish line in a time of 20:17. Brown University won the event with a total of 130 points.
St. Laurent finished in 179th place, followed by senior Jessica Marzik (Shelton, Conn.) in 219th place in a time of 20:53. Sophomore Bianca Ciuffredo (Worcester, Mass.) was the third Hawk across the line, finishing in 236th place in 21:10. Closing out the scoring were seniors Kathleen D'Orso (Orange, Conn.) and Karen Clark (Hubbardston, Mass.), finishing in 22:33 and 23:01, respectively. Also competing were seniors Maureen O'Leary (Hudson, Mass.) and Caitlin Govoni (Clearwater, Fla.), who finished in 23:14 and 23:18.
Saint Anselm returns to action on Saturday, October 10th as the team travels to the Plansky Invitational, hosted by Williams College.
