Hawks Place Ninth at Connecticut College Invitational
September 26, 2009Waterford, Conn. (September 26) -- Senior Jessica St. Laurent (Huntington, Miss.) finished in 36th place at the Connecticut College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday as the Hawks placed ninth out of 15 teams over the six-kilometer course.
St. Laurent covered the course in 24:20, a pace of 6:32 per mile as she was the team's top finisher for the second straight race. Senior Jessica Marzik (Shelton, Conn.) also placed in the top 50 as she finished in 49th place in a time of 24:44. Sophomore Bianca Ciuffredo (Worcester, Mass.) was in 73rd place in a time of 25:41, followed by senior Kathleen D'Orso (Orange, Conn.) in 90th place in a time of 26:10. Closing out the scoring for Saint Anselm was senior Karen Clark (Hubbardston, Mass.) as she ended up in 115th place in a time of 27:01.
Saint Anselm is back in action on Saturday, October 3rd as the Hawks travel to the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College. The competition is set to begin at 10:45 a.m.
