River Hawks Fly Past Saint A's, Down Hawks in Three
October 21, 2009MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm volleyball team continued their long road trip to Lowell, Mass. this evening to take on the University of Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Hawks struggled against the third-place River Hawks, falling in three games by scores of 25-11, 25-11, and 25-12. The win lifts the River Hawks to 15-8 (8-3 NE-10), while the Hawks fall to 5-14 (1-10 NE-10).
Freshman Casey Walker (Bridgewater, N.Y.) led the Hawks' offense with three kills and added a service ace. Sophomore Rachel Flaherty (Cold Spring, N.Y.) had 10 assists and the team had a total of four blocks. River Hawk Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, Mass.) led the match with nine kills, and the River Hawks combined for 13 blocks as a team.
The Hawks return to action on Tuesday, October 27th, to take on the American International Yellow Jackets in a Northeast-10 Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
