Hawks Place Seventh at BC/Brown GS at Wildcat

Pinkham Notch, N.H. (February 6) -- Led by an 11th-place finish by junior co-captain Maura Huff (Russell, Mass.), the Saint Anselm women's ski team placed seventh in the Giant Slalom competition at the BC/Brown Carnival. The race was held at Wildcat Mountain.

Huff, who stands at 16th in the MacConnell Division entering Saturday's final event of the regular season, placed 11th with a combined time of 2:03.07. Huff stood in sixth place after the morning run, putting up a time of 1:00.31 in her first run.

Following Huff was freshman Lauren Burgess (Saranac Lake, N.Y.), who placed 32nd in a time of 2:08.72. Junior co-captain Erin Forbes (Hanover, Maine) was right behind Burgess as she place 36th in a time of 2:10.78. Jacqui Cloud (Winsted, Conn.) also placed in the top 50 with a 48th-place showing in a time of 2:19.61.

The Hawks close out the season on Saturday as the team takes part in the Slalom competition at the BC/Brown Carnival, also being held at Wildcat Mountain.
