Hawks Place Seventh at MIT, UMass Carnivals
February 2, 2009The Saint Anselm women's ski team placed seventh at both the MIT and UMass Carnivals last weekend. The giant slalom took place at Loon Mountain, followed by the slalom on Sunday at Pat's Peak.
In the GS, the Hawks were paced by a 29th-place finish from freshman Lauren Burgess (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) in a combined time of 1:53.36, followed by co-captain Erin Forbes (Hanover, Maine) in 36th place. Jacqui Cloud (Winsted, Conn.) was 43rd, followed by Cara Suglia (Andover, Mass.) in 54th in 2:08.11.
In the slalom at Pat's Peak, co-captain Maura Huff (Russell, Mass.) placed 35th in a combined time of 1:57.67. Forbes was less than one second behind in 37th place, followed by Burgess in 40th. Cloud rounded out the top four skiers in 46th place.
Saint Anselm is back in action this weekend at the BC/Brown Carnival, held at Wildcat Mountain.
