Hawks Place Three on All-Conference Teams

South Easton, Mass. (April 30)-The Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team, led by senior captain Michaela Rocha's (Rye, N.H.) 1st team selection, had three players named to All-Conference Teams Thursday afternoon, as announced by commissioner Julie Ruppert.

Rocha's All-Conference First Team selection was the first of her career as she finished in the top 10 in the nation in most offensive statistical categories. Rocha was 2nd in the nation in points per game (6.07), seventh in points (91), eighth in assists per game (2.27), 10th in assists (34) and ninth in goals per game (3.80). On senior day last Sunday, she netted two goals to break the single season goals record (57) and already had the single season points (91) and assists record (34). She finishes her career second in school history in points (206), goals (145) and assists (61).

Freshman midfielder Meghan Smith (Pittsford, N.Y.) finished her first campaign second on the team with 54 points on 39 goals and 15 assists and was named to the All-Conference Second Team and All-Rookie Team for her efforts. Smith was also third in the nation in draw controls per game with 4.07.

Senior defender and captain Kayleigh Farrell (Nashua, N.H.) was named to the All-Conference Second Team for her second year in a row. The senior finished her career with two goals and two assists for the Hawks. She netted her final goal on senior day against No. 2 ranked C.W. Post. She also led the team in caused turnovers with 26 on the 2009 season.
