Worcester, Mass. (March 1)—The Saint Anselm College women’s ice hockey team finished their 2008-2009 season with a 5-0 victory over the Purple Knights of Saint Michael’s College Saturday afternoon at the ECAC Open Tournament at the Hart Center hosted by Holy Cross.

Hawks Fall to Pioneers 6-3
Worcester, Mass. (February 28)—The Saint Anselm College women’s ice hockey team fell to the Pioneers of Sacred Heart 6-3 in the first round of the ECAC Open Tournament hosted by the College of the Holy Cross at the Hart Center. The loss drops the Hawks to 15-9-2.

Syracuse, N.Y. (February 21)—The Saint Anselm College women’s ice hockey team fell to Division I Syracuse University 4-1 Saturday afternoon at Onondaga War Memorial. The loss drops the Hawks to 15-8-2 on the season.

Syracuse, N.H. (February 20)—The Saint Anselm College women’s ice hockey team fell to Division I Syracuse University 3-0 Friday night at Tennity Ice Pavilion. The loss drops the Hawks to 15-7-2 overall, while the win improves Syracuse to 8-15-3 in their innaugural season.

Manchester, N.H. (February 14)—On a day when the Saint Anselm College women’s ice hockey program celebrated senior day for five players and their manager, the Hawks, led by senior Kathleen Twomey’s two goals, skated to a 2-1 victory over Salve Regina.

Manchester, N.H. (January 4)—In day two of the 2009 Saint Anselm Tournament, senior Kathleen Twomey netted the game-winner to freeze the Polar Bears of Bowdoin 3-1. In the tourney finale, Manhattanville topped the Ephs of Williams 3-1 to move to 9-1-0.

Johnson's OT Goal Lifts Hawks Past Williams 4-3
Manchester, N.H. (January 3)—Kelsey Johnson’s (Byfield, Mass.) overtime goal lifted the Hawks past the Ephs in the 2009 Saint Anselm Tournament. In the night cap, Manhattanville defeated Bowdoin 3-2 on a game winning goal by Alex Blackwell (Brewster, N.Y.).

South Burlington, Vt. (November 14)—The women’s ice hockey team defeated Saint Michael’s College Friday night 4-1 at Cairns Arena. Senior forward Bianca DeSantis and freshman forwards Molly Corl and Sami Tatu each had two points in the victory.

Hawks Soar Past Norwich 5-3 in Opener
Manchester, N.H. (November 7)—The Saint Anselm women ice hockey team opened up the 2008-09 season with a 5-3 victory over the Norwich University Cadets 5-3. The victory was also the first for Head Coach Kerstin Matthews as coach of the Hawks.

Centerville, Mass. (October 30)—The Saint Anselm women’s ice hockey team was picked 2nd in the 2008-09 ECAC Women's East Hockey League preseason poll. The Hawks finished last year 23-2-1 overall.

Matthews Named as Women's Hockey Head Coach
Kerstin Matthews has been named as the Saint Anselm College women's ice hockey head coach, announced Ed Cannon, director of athletics. Matthews comes to the Hilltop from Division I Boston University, where she served as an assistant coach for the Terriers.
