Burg, Berry Earn ECAC East Honors

Centerville, Mass. (February 3)-Sophomore goaltender Carley Berry (Danvers, Mass.) and freshman forward Liz Burg (Minneapolis, Minn.) were honored by the ECAC East with Goalie and Rookie of the Week honors respectively, for their efforts this past week ending February 2nd.
Berry made 99 saves in a 2-1 week for the Hawks. Last Tuesday in the loss to two-time defending National Champion Plattsburgh State, the sophomore netminder made 41 saves in the losing effort. On Friday night, Berry made 25 saves in the 7-2 victory over ECAC East foe Nichols College. On Saturday, when the Hawks took on then undefeated Holy Cross, Berry stopped 33 shots, including 16 in the third period, to hand the Crusaders their first loss of the campaign and pick up her eighth win of the season. The sophomore has earned goalie of the week honors once before this season for her efforts the week of November 10th-17th.
Burg finished the week with a total of four points on two assists and two goals. On Friday night she tallied two assists in the 7-2 victory over Nichols College. On Saturday, the freshman scored both Hawk goals to hand Holy Cross their first loss of the season in the 2-1 Saint Anselm victory.
The Hawks return to the ice, Friday, February 6th, as they will travel to Southern Maine for a 4 p.m. start.
