Theodorou, Murphy Honored by Northeast-10

Easton, Mass. (May 1) -- Saint Anselm senior Katherine Theodorou (Glen Cove, N.Y.) and freshman Morgan Murphy (Orange, Mass.) were both recognized on Friday as the Northeast-10 announced its softball All-Conference teams, as voted by the league's head coaches. Theodorou was named to the All-Conference Third Team, while Murphy earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team.

Theodorou was second on the team in batting average at .346, just one point off the team lead. She has a team-best 53 hits with 24 runs scored, three doubles and 15 runs batted in. She ranked among the Northeast-10 leaders in hits and batting average throughout the season, ending up at fifth in total hits and 17th in batting average.

Murphy, who played primarily at first base as a rookie, led the Hawks with 10 home runs and missed the Saint Anselm single-season school record by just two home runs. She is also second in the league in that category, one of just two double-digit home run hitters. Overall, Murphy hit .271 with 29 hits, including 17 extra-base hits. She has 22 runs scored, a team-best 67 total bases, slugged .626 and had a .973 fielding percentage in a team-high 164 putout attempts.
