Hawks Finish 26th at UMass Dartmouth Invite

North Dartmouth, Mass. (September 19) -- On Saturday morning, the Saint Anselm men's cross country team placed 26th out of 37 teams at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Cross Country Invitational. Christoper Powers (Haverhill, Mass.) led the team with a 103rd-place finish.

Powers covered the five-mile course in a time of 27:13, a pace of 5:27 per mile. Nick Provost (Keene, N.H.) was the next Hawk finisher in 128th place in a time of 27:45, followed by John Surabian (Saugus, Mass.) in 145th place in 28:09. Rounding out the scoring was Drew Matthews (Madison, Conn.) in 196th place in 29:36, followed by Ben Horton (Manchester, N.H.) in 241st with a time of 32:34.

Saint Anselm returns to action next weekend as the team travels to the Connecticut College Invitational. That event is slated for a 12:00 p.m. start.
