Hawks Finish Fourth at Shacklette Invitational

Manchester, N.H. (September 12) -- At a rainy 28th Annual Shacklette Invitational on Saturday morning at Saint Anselm College, the Saint Anselm men's cross country team posted a fourth-place finish in the event.

The top Saint Anselm men's runner was junior Drew Matthews (Madison, Conn.), who finished 11th in a time of 28:29. John Surabian (Saugus, Mass.), Nick Provost (Keene, N.H.) and Christopher Powers (Haverhill, Mass.) came in 13th-15th and were separated by just two seconds (Surabian and Provost 28:41, Powers 28:43). Rounding out the scoring for the Hawks was freshman Joshua Reali in 28th in a time of 29:58.

Claiming the men's team title by three points was the College of Saint Rose with 36 points, defeating Bentley which finished at 39.

In the men's race, the overall winner of the race was Macky Lloyd of the College of Saint Rose, who finished in a time of 26:59 over the eight-kilometer course.
