Hawks Compete at MIT, UMass Carnivals

The Saint Anselm men's ski team took part in the MIT and UMass Carnivals over the weekend. At the giant slalom on Saturday, the Hawks placed sixth out of nine teams. In the slalom on Sunday at Pat's Peak, the team finished in seventh place.

In the GS on Saturday, Matt Pelucacci (Gouldsboro, Pa.) led the Hawks with a 25th-place finish in a combined time of 1:49.77. He was followed by Mike Maroni (Plymouth, N.H.) in 31st and Sam Bensley (Newburyport, Mass.) in 39th place. Sam Piper (Dalton, Mass.) and senior captain Michael Wilbur (Manchester, N.H.) rounded out the top five for the Hawks.

In the slalom at Pat's Peak, the team was led by Andrew Ross (Wilbraham, Mass.) in 38th place, followed by Piper in 40th. Wilbur finished the race in 46th place in a combined time of 2:03.70.

Saint Anselm is back in action this weekend at the BC/Brown Carnival, held at Wildcat Mountain.
