Murphy, Surette Selected for Senior All-Star Game

Manchester, N.H. -- Saint Anselm men's lacrosse seniors Chris Murphy (Winchester, Mass.) and Matt Surette (Wakefield, Mass.) have been selected to take part in the 2009 Turfer/New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association East-West Senior All-Star game. The game is set for Sunday afternoon at Tufts University.
Murphy earned All-New England honors for the first time in his career and was also a Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference selection. The team's leading scorer, Murphy led the Hawks with 51 points on 36 goals and 15 assists in 2009. He ranked fourth in the Northeast-10 in goals per game, fifth in points per game and 10th in assists per game. For his career, Murphy finished with 166 points and 125 goals, along with 41 assists. His 166 points rank him fourth on the all-time Saint Anselm scoring list. In addition, his 125 goals is third all-time, making him one of just three Hawks to surpass the 100-goal mark for his career. Murphy was a Second Team All-Conference selection in 2008.
Surette earned All-New England honors for the second consecutive season and was also named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Second Team, his first NE-10 All-Conference honors of his career. An All-New England Second Team honoree in 2008, Surette had 30 goals and four assists for 34 points this season. For his career, he has 81 goals, ranking him eighth all-time at Saint Anselm.
