MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm men's and women's ice hockey teams both hit the road this weekend for two away games after going 1-1 at home, including big wins against Holy Cross and Middlebury.  The men will take on Trinity College and Wesleyan University, while the women face Nichols College and the College of the Holy Cross.

The Saint Anselm men's team is currently 7-6-1 overall, and 5-5-1 in the ECAC East.  They sit in fifth place in the ECAC East, just one point behind Babson, Skidmore, and Southern Maine who are all tied for second.  The Hawks head off on a road trip this weekend following a big 4-0 shutout victory at home over the No. 6 Middlebury College Panthers on alumni weekend.

The Hawks kick off the weekend with a trip to Hartford, Conn., on Friday night to take on the Bantams of Trinity College (8-5-2, 5-3-2 NESCAC).  The Hawks are 5-11-3 all-time against the Bantams, who defeated the Hawks 4-2 in their last meeting on January 17, 2009.  The team then continues on to Middletown, Conn., to face the Wesleyan University Cardinals (5-9, 2-8 NESCAC) on Saturday evening.  The Hawks are 11-6-1 all-time against the Cardinals. The Hawks defeated the Cardinals the first 10 times they faced, but have gone 1-6-1 against them since 2002.  The Hawks fell to the Cardinals 4-3 the last time they played each other on January 16, 2009.

Tri-captain Coleman Noonan (Norfolk, Mass.) still remains at the top of the conference in several offensive categories.  He is fifth in the ECAC East in both points (20) and goals (10).  He leads the conference in both shorthanded points (3) and power-play goals (6) and is second in power-play points (10).  Additionally, Noonan is 10th in the nation in power-play goals.  Paul Snell (Groton, Mass.) also has a league-leading three shorthanded points.  He is third in the conference in game-winning goals (2), and ninth in assists (12).

The Lady Hawks head on the road this weekend for the first time since December 8, 2009, to take on the Nichols College Bison and the Holy Cross Crusaders.  The Hawks are 9-6-1 overall and currently sit in sixth place in the ECAC East with a 7-3-1 conference record.  They first head to Rhode Island to take on Nichols College (2-11-2, 2-8-2 ECAC East) at 7:30 pm on Friday night.  The Hawks are 2-0 all-time against the Bison, who are in their second season as a varsity team.  The Hawks shut out the Bison 6-0 earlier this season at home in their final game of 2009 on December 11th. The Hawks will then head to Worcester, Mass., to face the first-place Holy Cross Crusaders (13-2-1, 10-1-1 ECAC East).  The Hawks are 11-0-1 against the Crusaders, who they defeated 5-3 last Friday evening.
