Hawks Drop 21 Strokes, Jump Up to Sixth at NE-10's

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Anselm men's golf team had a spectacular second round, trimming 21 strokes off their first round total to jump up three spots and land in sixth place overall at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.  The Hawks shot a 310 today, which was yesterday's top score.  The Hawks finished with a 641, just one stroke behind the fifth place Bentley University Falcons.  Adelphi University, who finished in third yesterday, came out on top shooting a 620.

Junior James Henebry (Hampton Falls, N.H.) trimmed two strokes off yesterday's team-leading score to finish in a tie for 14th with a 158 (80, 78).  Freshman Tyler Fay (Barrington, R.I.) dropped six strokes to tie Henebry, shooting a team-high 76 in today's round.  Freshman Emilio Bardini (Salem, Mass.) showed the greatest between-round improvement, shaving nine strokes off his first round to tie the team-high with 76 today.  He shot a 161 (85, 76) overall and jumped up 20 spots in the rankings to finish in 21st place.

Junior Dylan McSparren (Portsmouth, R.I.) went down four stroke today, to jump up eight spots to 30th with a 164 (84, 80).  Freshman Brian Foley (Worcester, Mass.) dropped five strokes from yesterday to shoot a 167 (86, 81) and finish in 39th place overall.

The Hawks return to action next weekend, as they travel to Hartford, Conn. for the Trinity College Fall Shootout on October 10-11th.
