Hawks Win Fall Classic

Candia, N.H. (October 9)-The Saint Anselm golf team, led by Mike Rattigan (Reading, Mass.), won the 2008 Saint Anselm Fall Classic Thursday at Candia Woods Golf Course. The team shot a 311 total, defeating Bentley, Franklin Pierce, and the University of New Hampshire.

Rattigan's 73 was good enough for first place and tournament medalist for the Hawks. Chris Riley (Hingham, Mass.) shot a 76 to come in 3rd place, Chuck Sullivan (East Providence, R.I.) posted a 78, and freshman Bob Santos (Laconia, N.H.) fired an 84. Sophomore Dylan McSparren (Portsmouth, R.I.) put in a round of 88 to round out the Hawks.

Bentley, led by Sean Pettengill's 74, came in second with a 320. Franklin Pierce was led by Corey Dunn's tie for 4th place finish and a 322 team total. New Hampshire rounded out the teams with a 328 led by Kurt Eddin's 80.

The Hawks return to action Sunday, October 12th, as they will play in the SNHU Invitational at Canterbury Golf Course.
