October 6, 2009
Manchester, N.H. (October 6) -- Saint Anselm junior guard Thomas Baudinet (Watertown, Conn.) has been named as a Sporting News Preseason Honorable Mention All-American, as announced this week. The Hawks open the 2009-2010 season on November 15th in Philadelphia as the team takes on Holy Family University.
Baudinet, a Daktronics Second Team All-Region honoree and a Northeast-10 Third Team All-Conference selection, led the Hawks with 18.1 points per game in 2008-2009. His scoring average also ranked him fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference as he now has 775 career points through his first two seasons at Saint Anselm.
Baudinet, a one-time Northeast-10 Player of the Week in 2008-2009, was named to the league's weekly honor roll 10 times as well. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Baudinet was also honored as a Northeast-10 All-Academic selection. A history major, Baudinet boasts a 3.46 cumulative grade point average.
In addition to Baudinet's selection to the preseason All-American team, the Saint Anselm team has been named as one of the "possible breakthrough" teams for the 2009-2010 season. The Hawks are coming off a 17-13 season a year ago as the team made a late-season run to the Northeast-10 Tournament semifinals, upsetting two-time defending champion Bentley University in the league quarters.
