Al Grenert Court Dedication Set for February 21st

Manchester, N.H. (December 19) -- Saint Anselm College will honor longtime men's basketball head coach Al Grenert on Saturday, February 21, 2009, as the Hawks will dedicate the court at Stoutenburgh Gym as Al Grenert Court. The dedication will take place at halftime of the Saint Anselm men's basketball game vs. Saint Michael's.
Grenert, a pioneer in Division II basketball, is a native of Holyoke, Mass. He was a two-sport athlete at New York University, where he played both basketball and baseball. Grenert coached men's basketball at Saint Anselm from 1949 to 1971, compiling a career record of 304-171. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Grenert was also a lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
Following the game, there will be a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Cushing Center, with tickets for the event available beginning on January 5th.
