Profile: Making the transition from the guard spot to play primarily as a four this season on the perimeter... At 6-4 he can play defense against most undersized forwards, but also has the ability to shoot the ball.

2008-2009: Played in nine games... Played 18 minutes at Saint rose on 2-7-09, finishing with two blocks in the game... Had a season-high four points on 2-for-2 shooting at Bentley on 1-10-09... Had two rebounds at Saint Rose on 2-7-09.

2007-2008: Appeared in eight games during his sophomore season... Played in a season-high five minutes at Stonehill on 1-2-08... Had one rebound vs. Bentley on 1-16-08.

2006-2007: Owczarek appeared in eight games as a freshman... Played in a season-high nine minutes at Pace on 12-22-06, scoring four points... Scored his first career points in the season opener vs. Southern Connecticut on 11-15-06... Has two rebounds on two occasions... Finished with a season-best three assists on 12-22-06 at Pace... Shot 41.7 percent from the field and averaged 1.4 points per game.

Previous: Owczarek played at Seton Hall Academy, an outstanding New Jersey program that finished the season at 28-3 and was ranked sixth in the state. He averaged 12 points and led his team in both three-pointers made and three-point percentage... TOC Champion... Two-time state champion... All-County Defensive Team... All-County Long Range Team... All-County Most-Unheralded Team... Honor Roll student for four years.

Coach Dickson on Owczarek: "We have moved Mike from the guard position and will use him exclusively as a perimeter four man. He can stretch defenses with his shooting and is strong and tough enough to guard inside play at this level. Hopefully, Mike will continue to improve and help this program somewhere down the line."
