Profile: A hard-working two-sport athlete who gives the Hawks energy in practice and depth on the bench... He is a solid defender who has the ability to disrupt the offensive flow of an opposing team in the right situation.

2008-2009: Played  in 11 games... Had three points on 3-for-4 at the free throw line...  Played a season-high five minutes at Bentley on 1-10-09.

2007-2008: Appeared in six games for the Hawks... Had one rebound vs. Stonehill on 2-26-08, along with one steal.

2006-2007: Did not play as a sophomore.

2005-2006: Appeared in six games as a freshman and scored his first career point on 12-11-05 vs. Southern Connecticut... Scored three points twice, including most recently vs. Merrimack on 1-14-06... Played a career-high six minutes vs. Merrimack on 1-14-06.

Previous: Prior to attending Saint Anselm, Lamptey was a four-sport athlete at Worcester North High School, competing in soccer, basketball, volleyball and baseball... A four-year honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society, Lamptey was a two-year soccer captain, as well as a Worcester Telegram and Gazzette All-Star and an All-State soccer player.

Coach Dickson on Lamptey: "Sammy just joined us from the soccer team and will take him a little while to get back in some basketball flow. He is a great on the ball defender and we may have a role for him to completely disrupt the offense of our opponents. He is a tremendous help to our team in practice and has become an excellent teammate."

Personal: Son of Eugene and Esther... Has two sisters, Sheila and Nataly, and one brother, Michael... Sam is the oldest of his siblings... Also a member of the Saint Anselm men's soccer team, where he is a three-time Northeast-10 All-Conference selection... Was named to the All-Conference Second Team in 2007 after leading the team with nine goals and was a Second Team All-Conference selection again as a senior after leading the Northeast-10 in scoring... Majoring in computer science.
