March 7, 2008

Easton, Mass. -- Saint Anselm senior Chris Vetrano (Andover, Mass.) was named to the Northeast-10 Men's Basketball All-Conference Third Team, as announced by the league office. In addition, freshmen Thomas Baudinet (Watertown, Conn.) and John Tello (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) were both named to the league's All-Rookie Team.

Vetrano led the Hawks with 14.8 points per game and ranked among the league scoring leaders throughout the season. He shot 35.9 percent from the field and led the conference in free throw shooting at 89.7 percent (87-for-97). In early January, Vetrano put up a 43-point performance in a home win over Southern New Hampshire, the fourth-best single-game performance in school history.

Baudinet and Tello were each honored by the league twice this season as the Freshman of the Week. Baudinet averaged 14.3 points per game and was one of the top rookie scorers in the Northeast-10. He shot 48 percent from the field and an impressive 48.5 percent from behind the three-point arc. Baudinet capped off his freshman season with a 26-point effort in a tournament loss at Le Moyne, a game in which he knocked down eight three-pointers. Tello was the team's third-leading scorer at 9.4 points per game as he ended his rookie season with 254 points while shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 78.1 from the free throw line.
