Hawks Lose By 1-0 Final at Saint Michael's

Colchester, Vt. (October 3) -- Desiree Biron scored her second goal of the season for Saint Michael's as the Saint Anselm field hockey team dropped a 1-0 final to the Purple Knights on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference play.

Biron netted her second goal of the season in the 20 minute, assisted by senior Kaitlin Koffink. Koffink had a hat trick in this year's earlier meeting with the Hawks.

Freshman netminder Lindsay MacDonald (Dedham, Mass.) continued her outstanding play in net as she turned aside 11 shots for the second straight game. Overall, the Purple Knights outshot Saint Anselm by a 12-4 margin in shots on goal.

Saint Anselm drops to 1-11 overall and 0-5 in the Northeast-10, while Saint Michael's improves to 3-9 overall and is 1-3 in league play. The Hawks are back in action on Friday, October 9th as the team travels to Stonehill for a 4 p.m. start. The Skyhawks are currently ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division II North Region rankings.
