Eric Sabean is in his 12th year as Assistant Director of Athletics. In his position, Sabean oversees the Saint Anselm recreation program, including the college's intramural program. He also serves as the Director of Athletic Facilities, home game management and assists with the day to day operations of the athletic department. In addition, Sabean manages the newly-opened Carr Center Fitness Center, a three-level, 9,000 square foot facility overlooking the baseball and football fields.

Sabean has worked in the sports and recreation industry for some time.

A graduate of Manchester West High School, Sabean went on to graduate from Keene State College in 1994 with a bachelor of science degree in physical education. He also served as a physical education teacher at Manchester West beginning in 1996 before coming to Saint Anselm in 1998.

Prior to his responsibilities at Manchester West, Sabean worked as a special education teacher at Newport Middle School in Newport, N.H., and had gained experience through the Youth Works Programs of Manchester. He has also taught physical education and special needs at the elementary level since 1994.

Along with his education background, Sabean has also gained considerable coaching experience. Since 1993, Sabean has coached at the elementary, high school and collegiate level in sports including soccer, baseball, softball, lacrosse and field hockey. Sabean also served as assistant baseball coach at Saint Anselm in 1994 and again in 1998.

Sabean has also served as a member of the NH Sports and Tourism Bureau, Share our Strength and in 2006 participated in the College's Spring Break Alternative program. A recreational enthusiast, Sabean enjoys golfing, fishing and mountain climbing.

Sabean recently earned his Masters of Education at Southern New Hampshire University. He resides in Manchester, N.H., and is the proud father of Eric and Emily.
