Ken Johnson, Jr. is in his fifth year as the college's Director of Sports Information. Prior to arriving at Saint Anselm, Johnson served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information and Compliance at the University of Bridgeport (Conn.).
At Saint Anselm, Johnson is responsible for the media relations operation for the college's 20 intercollegiate athletic teams. This includes managing the athletic department web site, producing press releases and game stories, compiling statistics for all home contests and assisting in home game management for over 200 events per season.
In addition to his duties with Saint Anselm, Johnson is involved in a number of professional organizations and committees in college athletics. He is an active member of CoSIDA and ECAC-SIDA, the professional organizations for SID's nationwide. A number of his media guides have been recognized nationally, including his 2006-2007 men's basketball media guide that was voted as the No. 2 guide in the country in the CoSIDA Publications Contest and his 2007-2008 men's basketball guide that was voted third in the nation.
Johnson is also a member of the National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Northeast Region Poll Committee and past member of the NCAA Division II Baseball Northeast Regional Advisory Committee.
Johnson also served as the chairperson of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Northeast Region Men's Soccer All-American Committee for two years, as well as the regional chairperson of the Daktronics Volleyball and Women's Soccer National All-American Committees.
An avid golfer and runner, Johnson has completed
three marathons, including most recently the 2006 Cape Cod
Marathon. A 1998 graduate of the University of Massachusetts,
Amherst, Johnson has a bachelor of science degree in sport
management and currently resides in Bedford, N.H.
